Chris received his Plant and Soil Science degree from Middle Tennessee State University. Thereafter, he worked at well-known, high-end clubs such as The Golf Club of Georgia and Frederica Golf Club, as assistant superintendent. For the past four years, Chris has been the superintendent at The Ooltewah Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee. During his time there, Chris managed the golf course through a change in ownership, supervised numerous construction projects, and helped earn the course a number seven ranking in the list of best courses in Tennessee. What is sure to be welcome news to you – Chris’s greens at The Ooltewah Club are widely regarded as some of the best and fastest putting surfaces in Tennessee! Chris is married to Abby, a high school chemistry teacher. Together, they have two sons, Cameron and Parker, ages 11 and 8. The entire family is excited for this new adventure and getting to know the Club and its members. Abby and the boys will be moving to Shreveport after the school year ends in late May. We look forward to welcoming them into our community. In addition to being busy with his work and young family, Chris is also a scratch golfer and enjoys playing his course with members. He believes that this helps him better understand the daily playing conditions and provides him a direct avenue to learn of member concerns and wants. In the meantime, Chris is in active communication with Scott and Jared about on-course maintenance and is working with the agronomy team to ensure a seamless transition. It is our sincere belief that Chris will be able to continue the great work of the past four years and are confident that Chris has the talent and skill to lead us back to being considered the best club in Louisiana.
